MEET THE AUTHORS

One of the key aims of the Oxford Indie Book Fair is to support and give a platform for independent authors and professionals to reach the audience that they need to be successful.

Meeting people at the fairs is of course a huge opportunity to show off their talents, but that’s only two days out of the whole year.

Here, we’re presenting a lasting record of what it means to THEM to be a part of something HUGE – the growing REVOLUTION in publishing that is the rise of the independent author.

So often, you’ll see a piece advertising a book or a service and just as often those adverts just roll on by. So what we’re doing here is giving the exhibitors who make the book fair such a success a chance to tell everyone the story behind the stories. What makes them tick, what motivates and drives them to create books that fascinate, inform and delight so many people.

We’ll be releasing at least one new author story EVERY FRIDAY AT 6PM in the run-up to the summer book fair on Sunday 13 July, so do come back here to see who’s up next.

  • A writing challenge for Darian opened his eyes to a whole new way of thinking about his work.

  • Bob Cubitt found he had gathered enough material for not only a detailed true account of life in WW2 but a fictional series steeped in history.

  • Growing up surrounded by books is always a great inspiration for a writer. Those rich historical books caught her interest and the questions they raised for her drove her to write, and explore the answers.

  • Elizabeth isn’t alone when it comes to having an idea in the middle of the night and just HAS to write it down… how many other wirters do that?

  • Ondia was born in Jamaica – she can’t run or sing but she sure can write. Hear her story about how she became a prolific shifter / sci-fi romance writer.

  • Find out about Jake Lynch’s writing process for his murder mystery… and what EDMR has to do with it all.

  • Fantasy and paranormal writer talks about how they got into writing and their thoughts on what it all means to them.
