The Book Fair is NEXT WEEKEND - Oh My!

How are your preparations? Are you all ready yet? How are those new books looking?
As we're getting close to the event date, here's a few reminders and tips for making the day go as smoothly as possible.

‌

VIDEO ADS

Today is technically the closing date to book your advert on the GIANT screens at the venue. Plenty have taken us up on the offer and it's been nice to see some lovely looking submissions.
You can sneak in your booking this weekend if you like while I'm not looking, but DO please make sure that you've sent me your still image or video after booking - use this email address. SOME STILL HAVE NOT SENT THEIRS.
I need to get those very early next week as I'm going to be editing now.
Find out all the details including how to send in your AD and book using the button below.

CONGESTION CHARGE

Oxford City council has begun a congestion charge scheme for driving into the city. I'm not going to go into all the details here, but you can read more in the INFO page at the new-look Exhibitor Centre.
Why not follow the example of one of the other exhibitors and book a B&B overnight, then get a taxi into town if you're travelling a distance. She's booked in at a friend's B&B nearby (think they still have space). There's also a Premier Inn just next to the Redbridge Park and Ride just off the A34 (I've tried it, its fine).
While I'm on the topic of transport - do remember that there is NO parking at the venue. It's an ancient building and they didn't think of cars in the 1800's!

BOOK LAUNCHES

The list of who will be launching their books at the small North Hall area can be found on the What's On page. Thanks to everyone who applied, and I'm sorry we had to turn some away. It was quite popular. If you missed out on this then maybe try the big-screen ad… if you're VERY quick.

PROMOTING THE BOOK FAIR

Here's my perennial call for ALL OF YOU - yes, you - to start making a MASSIVE noise on your social media about what you're offering at the book fair. Post photos of your lovely new book on our facebook and other social media, tag us and we'll like, share and comment to give you a boost.
We're running a Facebook ad which has reached 30,000 people so far. Ads in two of the major Oxford Newspapers, Radio interviews, 10 big, bold banners all around town, more ads in local free magazines, flyers, posters and our big mailing list of people who are signed up for news.
We're pushing the boat out again, but WE NEED YOU to join in the effort - there's HUNDREDS of you and together we'll really get the word out. The more people who know, the more who will come… and of course buy those lovely books!
See the Exhibitor Centre for social media details and some graphics you can download to get you started.
