Dear Exhibitors and supporters, The Oxford Indie Book Fair will be at the Oxford Festival of Arts in July by the Isis at Magdalen College School. We'd like to invite 8 exhibitors to take half tables with us at the event on Sunday 16 July this year. You can find out more about the event at: https://artsfestivaloxford.org/
The Story Museum, The Roald Dahl Museum, The Oxford Preservation Trust and Waterperry Opera will be among the exhibitors and will also perform. There will be a tea tent, workshops and live music.
HOW TO APPLY The first 8 to apply will be allocated space. The stands are free and the festival will supply the trestles. If you are successful, please ensure you have a professional-looking display and promote the festival and Oxford Indie Book fair in any way you can, including social media. Just reply to this email stating your name, what you will be promoting and a few words about yourself for the website. This is on a strictly first-come-first-served basis, so please do be absolutely sure that you will be able to attend. We'll send out a short note to confirm that we have filled all the spaces and will contact successful applicants directly with further information.
THE NEXT BOOK FAIR Good news! The Book Fair will be back again in November. We'll get in touch with details when the time comes, and as always our newsletter subscribers will have the first opportunity to book exhibitor space.
SOMETHING FOR YOU In order to build on our aim to support writers, literary creatives and indie professionals, we are planning to add a major new section to our website deigned specifically to help you promote your books, events and businesses. It will also be a place where you can exchange ideas and work together. We are also planning to connect with others to deliver courses and talks online. In a week or two, we will be inviting everyone on our subscriber list to be a part of this and through a short survey refine what we will be developing to make it an essential resource for indie writers and professionals not only in and around Oxford but nationwide and even globally.
FURTHER AFIELD Sylvia likes the idea of trying outreach events in Didcot and Thame. If a group of exhibitors wanted to do it with Sylvia’s input then that too is a possibility. Andy, Sylvia, James and Ray
