Dear ,
We appreciate your enthusiastic support for the Oxford Indie Book Fair and had expected to see you all this Saturday. Alas our crystal ball was faulty and we did not foresee this lock down. You will have heard that Wimbledon has been cancelled and public gatherings are likely to remain prohibited in June so June 13 is not possible. For that reason we have booked the halls in Wesley Mem for Saturday Nov 21. We had planned a pre- Christmas event if our first proved popular with you and with book−buyers. We’ll assume that exhibitors will want to keep their stands unless we hear otherwise. Can those of you booked to speak or perform contact Sylvia on sylviavetta@gmail.com to let us know if you would like to participate in November. In the meantime we want to connect and unite us and build up awareness of oxib among the general public. We were going to publish a 36 page booklet to give free to visitors. It had features as well as programmes, plans and listings of exhibitors. Thanks to those of you who sent thought provoking and interesting articles. We will publish a physical programme prior to the live event but, in the meantime, we plan to put a link to an online magazine on www.oxfordindiebookfair.co.uk on the 21st of every month and will flag it up to you all. If you like the content can you please share it with as many friends, contacts and groups as possible. Let’s use this time to build enthusiasm for the Oxford Indie scene so that we can make November 21 a success. Thinking of you and hoping we can all stay safe. Andy, James, Ray and Sylvia. Andy Severn(Oxford ebooks), James Harrison(oxfordfolio), Ray Foulk (who stole Dylan from Woodstock and me)
